WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) is wood fibre blended with PVC and extruded into boards and battens. It looks and feels close to real timber but will not rot, swell or feed termites, and never needs repainting. What WPC is, and how it differs from timber
WPC stands for Wood Plastic Composite: wood flour or fibre blended with PVC and additives, then extruded. Unlike timber it absorbs almost no water, so it will not swell or rot and termites ignore it. Unlike all-plastic synthetic boards it contains real wood, so the grain and texture read as natural rather than shiny — a good match for Thailand’s hot, humid, wet climate.
The WPC work we install
Five main groups: WPC wall cladding for exteriors and feature walls; WPC soffits for eaves, awning undersides and carports; WPC decking for balconies, poolsides and garden paths; WPC fences and batten infill on steel frames; and privacy screens and building facades. Everything is designed and cut to the real site dimensions rather than forced to fit a stock size.
Material grades to suit the budget
Three levels: premium grades such as SCG for the longest life and best colour retention; standard grades such as VG, the balance most clients choose; and general or imported grades for budget-led work or areas out of harsh sun. Whichever you pick, the exact brand, model and thickness are written into the quotation before work starts.
The sub-frame decides how long it lasts
WPC work rarely fails because of the boards — it fails because of the frame. We use galvanised box steel, or two coats of rust primer, with purlin spacing matched to the job: 60–80 cm for walls and battens, 40–60 cm for soffits, 30–40 cm for decking. Fixings are stainless screws or the profile’s clip system, always with an expansion gap because WPC moves with temperature.
How WPC work is priced
From 1,190–5,500 THB per square metre depending on work type, material grade, board thickness, batten spacing, working height and structural complexity. Straightforward decking and wall cladding sit at the lower end; tall facades and tightly spaced screens at the upper end. Minimum project budget is 30,000 THB, with a free initial site assessment across Samut Prakan, Chonburi and nearby.
Maintenance and lifespan
WPC needs almost nothing: a wash with clean water once or twice a year, no sanding or re-oiling. What does need checking is the fixings and steel frame, once a year — especially near the coast in Chonburi where salt air accelerates corrosion. UV-inhibited grades hold their colour and grain far longer.
